Breaking Paradigms in Health is the only way to Unlearn old habits and Relearn how to keep these essentials in CHECK for sustained WEIGHT LOSS!
1. Cravings
When the body signals for you to eat, it does that through an intricate messaging system that is intelligent (however flawed it may seem occasionally). Cravings are usually an attempt from the body to meet its nutritional deficiencies. On occasional when this is not the case, it is usually due to a hormonal imbalance (discussed further in coming articles).
This is one of the major reasons why “diets” and “dieting” will ALWAYS fail you. You cut back on your caloric intake and attempt to increase your activity level. Increased activity puts a bigger demand on your body for nutrients. But instead of feeding your body with more nutrient dense foods, you cut back. You keep at this for 2 weeks and may be even 2 months but eventually, your will power runs out. It may feel like you’ve lost the fight against your biochemistry and genetics but in reality, your body is only trying to take care of you. Now instead of loving our body for taking care of us so well, we hate it for having failed us yet again!
2. Energy
In order to meet the challenges and changes of life we require energy. Dieting inherently due to caloric restriction lowers all metabolic functions and as a result may lead to lowered energy production. Apart from this most common experience, from a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, your energy and Life Force (or Qi) can only be replenished through nourishing food, R&R and Sleep.
Without sufficient life force, you cannot meet the demands of life. The most basic being, the preparation of healthy meals to the most challenging being the ability to handle life’s stressors with grace. Without vital energy not only your body but soon it may seem that your life is falling apart. Keeping your energy in check and troubleshooting as needed is essential to success.
3. Moods
