Vitamin D3’s role in reducing severity of Viral Infections

">

We would all fare so much better if we lined up for Vitamin D testing!self love to gain health and lose weight

The scientific consensus on the essentiality of optimal Vitamin D levels for immune health is undeniable 𝓐𝓝𝓓 “it has been documented that there is a high worldwide prevalence of vitamin D deficiency that may require public health actions such as vitamin D food fortification” (2019, PMC6365669).

It’s a ~$37-$50 test through your MD or ND in Ontario (neither covered by OHIP) and it’s been very rare in my clinical experience to see optimal levels even in those who supplement as most don’t supplement with the right product or at the right dose.

  • 𝘐𝘍 optimizing IMMUNE health is your goal this winter, I cannot stress enough the importance of getting tested and beginning supplementation with a fat immersed (liquid or gel capsules) of Vitamin D3 as needed!
  • 𝘐𝘍 you’ve been relying on dairy as a source of Vitamin D, know this, the little bit of Vitamin D2 added to dairy products is unfortunately not the best form of vitamin D (some research suggests it being more harmful than helpful).
  • π“žπ“‘ 𝘐𝘍 you’re going to rely on the Sun for Vitamin D, the angle of the rays of the sun in fall/Winter are such that even if you were to expose your skin fully to direct sunshine, you still would not meet your body’s daily requirements for Vitamin D!
  • Some individuals would fare better with a combination product of Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K2 (MK4 or MK7)! As well, new research suggests essentially of Vitamin K2 in the body’s ability to fight off certain corona viruses (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7406600/)
